If you're looking for a super refreshing sorbet with a touch of originality, apple-verbena sorbet is perfect! The apple provides natural sweetness, and the verbena adds a subtle, herbaceous freshness that makes all the difference. This sorbet is a bit like a stroll through a garden in summer, but in frozen form!

Ingredients :
- 3 green apples (or Granny Smith apples for a touch of acidity)
- 2 tablespoons of agave syrup (adjust to your taste)
- 80 ml of water
- 1 tablespoon of dried verbena (or 1 teaspoon of verbena extract or verbena syrup if you have some)
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 small pinch of salt (optional, but it brings out the flavors)
Preparation :
- Prepare the apples.
Peel and chop the apples into small pieces. The smaller you chop them, the easier they will be to blend later. If you want a milder flavor, you can also use Golden Delicious apples, but I love the tartness of Granny Smiths! - Verbena Infusion:
Heat the water in a small saucepan, add the dried verbena, and let it steep for about 5 minutes. If you are using extract, you can add it directly to the mixture afterward. Strain the verbena to keep only the infusion. - Blend everything together.
Put the apple pieces in your blender, add the cooled verbena infusion, agave syrup, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth. If it's still a little too thick, you can add a little water to adjust the consistency. - Head to the Ninja Creami!
Pour the mixture into the Ninja Creami container, being careful not to exceed the MAX FILL . And pop it in the freezer for 24 hours ! Yes, I know, you have to be patient, but it's really worth it. - The magic step:
After 24 hours of waiting, it's time for the real fun. Place the container in the Ninja Creami and select the "Sorbet" . In just a few minutes, you'll have a super-fresh sorbet! - Respin Tip:
If you find the sorbet is still a little too firm, use the "Respin" and add about 30 ml of liquid (water or a little apple juice) to obtain an even smoother texture.
My Personal Tip:
This apple-verbena sorbet is super refreshing on its own, but if you want to take it to the next level, try serving it with some chopped mint or pistachio pieces. It adds a lovely little crunch that's just fantastic!
Here's a recipe that will bring a real breath of fresh air to your summer. This apple-verbena sorbet is perfect for sunny days, and thanks to Ninja Creami, you'll get that creamy texture every time. It's the kind of dessert that makes you feel good while remaining light. A must-try!
