The milk chocolate coulis is a gourmet and creamy sauce, ideal for coating ice cream, pancakes or waffles. It is easy to make and brings chocolate softness that goes perfectly with vanilla, strawberry or coffee ice cream.

Ingredients :

  • 150 g of milk chocolate
  • 50 ml of liquid cream
  • 50 ml of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar (optional, depending on the softness of chocolate)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Preparation :

  1. Heat the cream and milk
in a small saucepan, heat the liquid cream and milk over low heat, without letting it boil. Stir gently to prevent the mixture from hanging on the bottom.
  2. Add the milk chocolate
once the mixture is hot, remove the pan from the heat and add the milk chocolate cut into pieces. Let the chocolate melt in the hot cream for a few minutes.
  3. Mix to obtain a smooth coulis
stir gently until you get a smooth and homogeneous sauce. If you want a more sweet coulis, adds a tablespoon of sugar at this stage and moves well until dissolution.
  4. Add the vanilla (optional)
for an even more fragrant coulis, adds the vanilla extract and mixes well.
  5. Let cool slightly
let the coulis cool at room temperature before using it to coat your ice cream. It keeps in the refrigerator for about a week in an airtight pot.

My Personal Tip:

This milk chocolate coulis is perfect for coating a vanilla or coconut ice cream. I also love to use it to marble a coffee or caramel ice cream with the Ninja Creami. For an even more greedy touch, you can add chips of hazelnuts or grilled almonds on top. And for the greediest, try to add it to an icy milkshake or on pancakes with a scoop of ice cream, it's a real treat!
