Ingredients :

  • 250 ml of water
  • 200 g of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of dried pink buttons (or 1 teaspoon of pure rose water)
  • 1 to 2 drops of pink food coloring (optional, to accentuate the color)

Preparation :

  1. Heat the water and sugar
    in a saucepan, mixes water and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring regularly until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the pink buttons
    if you use dried pink buttons, add them to the mixture of sweet water. Let them infuse on low heat for 10 minutes so that the syrup soaks the scent of the rose. If you use rose water, add it to the end of cooking, after removing the pan from the heat.
  3. Filter The syrup
    passes the mixture through a fine colander to remove the pink pimples. If you want a more colorful syrup, add 1 or 2 drops of pink food coloring at this stage.
  4. Let cool
    let the pink syrup cool completely before pouring it into an airtight container. It keeps in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks.
