Why is El Mordjene generating so much buzz?
It all started on TikTok, where El Mordjene captivated food lovers. Within weeks, this Algerian spread flooded supermarket shelves, and jars sold like hotcakes. Then, a dramatic turn of events: the European Commission banned the product due to health standards, notably the lack of certification for some ingredients. But don't worry, it's easy to make at home!
If you don't already have a jar of El Mordjene at home, you can make your El Mordjene spread using the recipe I've already shared on my blog. You can find it here.
Now that you have this dough ready, here's how to transform it into a delicious ice cream with your Ninja Creami.

El Mordjene ice cream recipe with Ninja Creami
Ingredients for 1 serving:
- 4 to 5 tablespoons of El Mordjene spread (depending on the desired intensity of flavor)
- 200 ml of whole milk or almond milk (if you prefer a lactose-free option)
- 2 tablespoons of liquid cream (optional for extra creaminess)
- 1 tablespoon of sugar (or more to taste)
- 1 pinch of salt
Instructions :
- Dilute the El Mordjene paste :
- In a small saucepan, gently heat the milk and cream over low heat. Add the El Mordjene spread to the mixture and stir regularly until it is completely dissolved and incorporated. Do not boil; the goal is simply to thin the spread.
- Add the sugar and salt :
- Once the paste is well diluted, add the sugar and a pinch of salt. Mix until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Freezing :
- Pour the mixture into the container intended for the Ninja Creami. Cover it tightly and place it in the freezer for at least 24 hours. The texture will be perfect after it has frozen completely.
- Transformation into ice :
- Once the mixture is completely frozen, remove the container from the freezer and place it in your Ninja Creami. Use the "Ice Cream" to transform the mixture into a smooth and creamy ice cream. If necessary, you can run the machine again for an even smoother consistency.
- Customization :
- Add toppings like crushed hazelnuts, melted chocolate, or a drizzle of caramel for even more indulgence.

Trick :
If the texture of the ice cream seems too firm after the first transformation, do not hesitate to use the "Re-spin" with 5 tablespoons of milk from the Ninja Creami to smooth your ice cream further.
