How do you make a sorbet with the Ninja Creami?

The Ninja Creami makes it easy to prepare homemade sorbet from fruit and a few simple ingredients. Most recipes involve blending the ingredients, pouring the mixture into the container, and freezing it for several hours. Once the base is frozen solid, simply use the Sorbet respin function once or twice usually results in a perfectly smooth, lump-free Ninja Creami sorbet.

Can you make a Ninja Creami sorbet without sugar?

In my Ninja Creami sorbet recipes, I generally prefer to use less sugar to keep the dessert lighter and allow the natural fruit flavors to shine through. The goal is to create fruity and refreshing sorbets, rather than overly sweet ones.

Personally, I often use agave syrup instead of cane sugar. It mixes very easily with fruit and liquids, resulting in a smooth and healthy preparation.

If you prefer to use cane sugar, it is advisable to dissolve it thoroughly in the liquid of the recipe before freezing. To do this, simply mix the sugar with the fruit juice or water used in the recipe until it is completely dissolved.

The recipes on this blog can, of course, be adapted to your personal taste. A simple tip is to taste the mixture before freezing it. If it's too acidic, add a little sugar or agave syrup to achieve a better balance

What fruits should I use for a Ninja Creami sorbet?

Many fruits can be used to make delicious sorbets with the Ninja Creami. Red berries like strawberries, raspberries, or mixed berries produce very fragrant sorbets. Mango, pineapple, or peach create a particularly smooth texture. Citrus fruits like lemon add a refreshing and slightly tangy note. Ideally, use fully ripe fruit for a naturally sweeter and more flavorful sorbet.

Tips for making a successful Ninja Creami sorbet

To achieve a successful sorbet with the Ninja Creami, it's important that the mixture is completely frozen before starting the machine. A base that's too watery can sometimes result in a powdery texture after the first blend. In this case, a respin or adding a little more liquid can improve the texture. The balance between fruit, sugar, and liquid also plays a crucial role in creating a smoother, more enjoyable sorbet.

How long should the mixture for a Ninja Creami sorbet be frozen?

The mixture should generally be frozen for at least 24 hours before using the Ninja Creami. This allows the base to solidify completely and achieve a smoother texture when the machine churns it into a sorbet. If the mixture isn't frozen sufficiently, the result may be too soft or uneven.

Can you make Ninja Creami sorbet using frozen fruit directly?

Yes and no! Technically yes, but it's often better to blend the fruit with a little liquid before freezing. This results in a more homogeneous base and a smoother sorbet after being processed in the Ninja Creami. Blending frozen fruit can damage the machine in the long run.

How to adjust the sugar in a sorbet recipe?

The simplest trick is to taste the mixture before freezing it . If it's too acidic, you can add a little sugar or agave syrup. If it's already quite sweet from the fruit, you can reduce the amount of sugar in the recipe.

How to get a creamier sorbet with the Ninja Creami?

The texture depends largely on the balance between fruit, sugar, and liquid. Fiber-rich fruits like mango or banana often result in creamier sorbets. Adding a little sugar, agave syrup, or a small amount of liquid can also help improve the texture.

What quantities should I use for a sorbet with Ninja Creami Deluxe?

The Ninja Creami Deluxe is larger than the classic model. Generally, you can use about 400 to 500g of fruit for a sorbet. Then add 50 to 150ml of liquid (water, fruit juice, or plant-based milk, depending on the recipe). If you're adapting a recipe designed for the classic Ninja Creami, you often just need to slightly increase the quantities to fill the tub properly.
